CAREFUL with this product February 28, 2011

Verbac products in general have been SUPERIOR in my opinion, especially the HEXtra chews. I thought I'd give these VeggieDent Chews a try for some variety. Here's the problem - since these are marketed as a means to clean a dogs teeth, I would expect them to last a while during which the chewing and gnawing action would indeed help the dogs teeth, but here's the snag, I have a small-to-medium size dog and he went through one of these chews in minutes, whereas the HEXtra chews last much longer. There wasn't any "chewing" involved, the dog just bit the VeggieDent Chew and it breaks off into smaller semi-sharp shards and only chews momentarily then its gone. I would have expected these chews to have a more chewy consistency rather than a hard consistency so a dog couldn't just bite through the chew and swallow the smaller pieces. I cannot possibly fathom any benefit to the dog's teeth in terms of removing plaque or reducing tarter. I wouldn't buy these again and will stick with the HEXtra line of chews.

Amazon helps us keep our dog's teeth and breath clean May 19, 2010

This is one of three products we rotate daily for our dog to keep her teeth and breath clean. We have been using this approach for almost eight years, and her teeth have remained very healthy and her breath has never been a problem.Amazon provided these chews for a better price that we had gotten at the vets, and we didn't have to drive there to receive them (or find out we'd have to come back as her size was currently unavailable).

VeggieDent chews are much better AND SAFER than HEXtra chews September 3, 2011

Our vet recommended getting "C.E.T. chews" to help clean our dog's teeth, so I looked around online and came across the VeggieDent chews and the HEXtra premium chews. Both of these met the requirement of being "C.E.T chews" but they looked (and sounded from the description) very different from each other, so I wasn't sure what kind to buy. Based on the reviews for each, it still wasn't clear what would work better, so I ordered one pack of each. I was worried that the VeggieDent chews would too easily be consumed and therefore wouldn't do much for cleaning her teeth, and I was worried that the HEXtra chews would be a choking hazard because they wouldn't come apart easily enough and she might swallow them whole.The VeggieDent chews were definitely easy for her to break pieces off of, but she was quite happy doing so, and it took her about 15s or maybe a bit more to eat it. She chewed each little piece that broke off while she ate it, and it was definitely cleaning her teeth. The HEXtra chews, however, are a choking hazard, and I will never give her another one. She was very excited to get the HEXtra chew (they smell terrible but apparently good to a dog) and chewed on it for a second or two, and then in one quick gulp it was gone. The whole chew, still in one piece. It was in her mouth for about 2 seconds. She is a VERY strong chewer (she can take chunks off of a black kong easily in 30 seconds or so, and she's a medium-large dog), and had no desire to chew pieces off of the HEXtra chew, I'm guessing because the moistened chew seemed like something to be swallowed whole. The HEXtra chews were useless for cleaning her teeth and a choking hazard, and I would never give her another one.In summary, the VeggieDent chews were great for cleaning our dog's teeth (though they didn't last particularly long, but if you're looking for something to last long, try a kong product), while the HEXtra chews did nothing for our dog's teeth and were also a choking hazard because she swallowed it whole within a second or two.Note: I've posted this review for the HEXtra chews as well, in case it's useful for people who may be debating between these two types of C.E.T. chews.

DO NOT BUY- WARNING October 9, 2008

My wife ; I religiously bought dental dinos for our corgi. He is a powerful, obsessive chewer that tore anything else apart that we gave him. He's been through many over the years. Recently, on a routine visit to the vet, they found that both of his molars on top were cracked ; infected. They are currently performing root canals on each. If the root canals do not work,they'll have to pull his most important chewing teeth. The vet (who is a dental specialist) said that the injuries were directly related to this product. A $2000 bill and a pup with no molars. Sad day. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

We purchase these dinosaurs constantly. For some reason our dogs just LOVE them. Unlike the Nylabone bones, these dinos last alot longer as well. They are funky shapes so our dogs can manipulate them better to hold and chew. If you have big chewers like my dogs (three lab mixes), I HIGHLY recommend these chews!

We purchased the Stegosaurus at a local pet store the day we adopted our cattle dog mix. At the time she was about 45 pounds and 8 months old. We did not know what kind of chewer she was, but felt that a product designed for "powerful" chewers up to 50 pounds would be a safe choice. It was not. She worked to remove the head and tail of the dino and while we were able to get the larger pieces from her, she swallowed several very small pieces. And much to our embarrassment, at her first vet visit (3 days after adoption) we were told to stop giving her whatever "white plastic" toy she was chewing and eating. Enough pieces had gotten into and through her system to cause the vet concern she may not pass all of them.I am giving this product 1 star because:1) It is described as a product for powerful chewers - it did not hold up2) It is rated for dogs up to 50 pounds - while on the upper end of the scale, our dog fits into that category and the product did not hold up3) the vet warned us to stop using the product as the size and shape of the pieces were potentially harmful to our dog.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE! December 3, 2008

DO NOT BUY FROM ENTIRELY PETS Synovi G3 is a great product and has helped my dogs tremendously. I've purchased from vets and from other companies on Amazon with great success. BUT, I purchased soft chews from ENTIRELY PETS and my dogs refused to eat them. Several times I found tiny pieces of wood on the chews where my dogs spit them out but I thought perhaps it was tracked into my house. Then I split a chew out of the container and it had 3 tiny chunks of wood in it! The company refuses to discuss and the manager won't call me back. BEWARE THIS COMPANY AND BUY SYNOVI G3 FROM SOMEONE ELSE!Update Janary 2009: I contacted Synovi G3's manufacturer, IVX Animal Health and shipped them the remaining chews I had from Entirely Pets. They initiated a quality investigation and sent me a letter stating the following. "Inspection of the returned complaint samples showed some inconsistencies between the product you returned to us and the product in our current inventory. We believe that these inconsistencies may be related to the manner in which this product was purchased. IVX Animal Health recommends that our products be purchased ony through your veterinarian. IVX regrets any inconvenience this incident may have caused." In my conversation with the company, they told me that they do not sell directly to any of the companies who are selling on Amazon.

Our vet recommended this product for our dog that has arthritis. She is picky on what she eats and she enjoys the soft chews. She is stiff when she first stands up but once she starts walking she is fine. When the colder weather hit we give her an extra one and really seems to help with her joint pain.

i gave my 8 y/o lab/shepherd mix glucosamine pills religiously with little results. my vet suggested these chews and after 2 weeks i noticed a HUGE improvement in my dog's movement. no more difficulty standing up after rest periods, runs up the stairs past me, pulls me around the neighborhood. it's great would highly recommend this product and the vendor to anyone with a large dog with genetic disposition for joint problems or previous injury/surgery.

I'm on my second generation of cats who are growing up using CET Chews. Have you ever tried to brush your cats teeth? If not, trust me, it's not much fun for you or the cat. Still, you've got to do something to help their teeth and gums stay in good shape. That's where the "Chews" come in. My cats think they're getting a treat and mob me when I go for the bag. It took them a couple of tries to figure out the pieces were supposed to be chewed up and eaten, but I simply crumbled up a "chew" and they quickly caught on.Do they work? Perhaps not as well as brushing, but I can tell you that it cut down on the number of times that my cats needed dental help. Before I started using them I had one cat lose a tooth to decay who got yearly tooth cleaning. After I started the cats on the CET Chews NONE lost any teeth and rarely did they need special cleaning at the vet. They seem to work, and my cats think they're getting a treat instead of a treatment. We give them one "chew" once or twice a week. That seems to be often enough. This product is a winner!

These are not at all what I was expecting, they are called 'chews' but the texture is more like styrofoam wrapped in a clear papery coating and they are much larger than I expected, like a small cork. One of my cats won't even touch them, the other (who will pretty much eat anything) reluctantly accepts them. To be honest they don't look like something that would be appetizing or appealing to a cat, except maybe to bat around as a toy (which I think I did read in someone else's review). If you are thinking of trying these for the first time, I would suggest starting with the small bag - I'm wishing I did but after reading so many good reviews I thought I was safe ordering the larger bag.

CET Chews for Cats (poultry flavor)is an outstanding treat among our cats who now let us know when it is time for their dental treat. If we run out before the new shipment we get sad eyed looks, loud cries, and all the while following us around the house. Also far less plaque buildup - even on our Tonkinese and Abysinians - means fewer trips to the vet.

My 3 1/2 month-old Welsh Corgi is teething and is in constant need of something to chew on. He prefers ice cubes, as a matter of fact, which gets a little complicated if I don't want to take him outside every ten minutes. I wasn't sure how these rings would work out after seeing them at a pet store because they're awfully hard and I didn't know if he'd even like to chew on them. I couldn't have been more mistaken because he loves them! He flips them over in the air, pounces after them, and proceeds to chew for amazing stretches of time. They're holding up well under the pressure. Highly recommended!

Our 1 year old, 18 lb chewing fanatic destroys most toys within minutes. We can't even think of buying anything that squeaks or has stuffing. This toy has survived the Willow tooth test and she likes the rattling sound it makes when she carries it. This one is a winner for an aggressive chewer!

Cute toy that does get played with and chewed by Yorkies adults to puppies! The toy maker does a great job making toys that my dog/puppies will play with and enjoy! Yorkies are chewers but they don't like super hard items to chew on, they do seem to want a slight bit of 'give' in a product to get a hold of when they are busy chewing and this does! My best chewers have not chewn through one of the rings yet too which is surprising! A toy a 2-3/4 pound adult or 5 pound adult will play with and puppies from around 3/4 of a pound and up also. Great toy! Will buy again!

I was worried that my cat would not like these and was hesitant to buy this many. I purchased a smaller bag and my cat LOVES them.So I purchased this much larger bag at Amazon's much better price via Amazon from Entirely Pets. Again, I was worried about the seller based on other comments. But they were ordered on Sunday, and I got them Tuesday morning - they ship from Fremont, CA. The expiration date on the bag is 16 months from now, about what I would get in any retail store. So I've just not experienced any problems with this seller or this product.The manufacturer admits that brushing your cat's teeth is much better, and I do that about every other day. This product ensures that there is at least something done for his teeth every day. And trust me, my cat does not let me forget to give him one of these every night. He'll claw at my legs until I do and his claws are sharp!By the way, one tip for cat owners: many of an older cat's problems are due to the propensity of most cats not to drink enough water: kidney and teeth problems are common. I feed my cat only a teaspoon of wet food a day, smothered in about 2 ounces of water. He drinks the wet-food-flavored water and only then gets to eat the wet food. My cat is 19 years old (the average cat lives to be about 12-14 years old) and has had no major health problems. However, the teeth cleanings are getting to be too stressful for him, so I've taken to these treats and brushing his teeth to try to spread out the cleanings.

I have been purchasing these treats at the recommendation of the vet to help with my cat's tarter build ups. When they are chewed they release enzymes into kitty's mouth to help fight against the tarter.What really surprised me is the price difference, I was paying about $12 at the vet for a 30 pack. When I did the math on buying the 90 pack + S;H, it's about the same amount I would pay for two 30 packs -- so I got 30 more, another month's supply!Also, Entirely Pets shipped this very promptly. I ordered on Labor Day Weekend and it arrived on the following Thursday. Good Service!

Ok¡K The vet recommended Glyco-Flex III Soft Chews by Vetri-Science for our Bull Mastiff Sierra. She was doing GREAT since her life expectancy is 8 and she is 11 but we wanted to make sure her joints were ok. The bag recommends 5 per day for a dog her size but we started only giving her one to slowly introduce her to it. We did notice that she would play with the other dogs a little and seemed to feel great.Over the last 3 days I noticed Sierra is being a NUT! She is running around like a puppy and super playfull! I asked my boyfriend what the heck is going on with her? He said he started giving her 2 chews a day about a month ago! Holly Molly WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Our old ¡§granny dog¡¨ is following him all around the house all day like it is dinner time and jumping up on him doing her happy dance. This stuff is GREAT and she LOVES the taste of them!
